is there only one hard drive? if so, then did you mean to say:THE "E" drive is connected to the mother board. The other cd rom is connected to the "E" drive. Both were jumpered as slave but i changed the "E" drive to master.
The other cd rom is connected to the "C" drive. Both were jumpered as slave but i changed the "C" drive to master.
it looks like one cdrom is found - e:. insert the cd into E:, then type dir e:
if you see
CDR101-NOT READY READING DRIVE E
ABORT, RETRY, FAIL
then wait a few seconds and enter R
if it still fails, insert a known good cd, wait a few seconds, then enter dir E:
if this still fails, with the power off disconnect the 'other' CDROM(the one not recognized), boot from floppy, remove the 2nd cd, insert the win98 cd, then type dir E: ... or ... we might expect the cdrom to be d: now ... try dir D: too

Setup is running. Thanks. I had to disconnect the other CD drive. Recommendations for when I get Windows loaded?

Let's get through the win98 installation, then we can retest the other cdrom.
