Understand problem may be with CDROM set up.

THE "E" drive is connected to the mother board. The other cd rom is connected to the "E" drive. Both were jumpered as slave but i changed the "E" drive to master.

is there only one hard drive? if so, then did you mean to say:

it looks like one cdrom is found - e:. insert the cd into E:, then type dir e:

if you see
CDR101-NOT READY READING DRIVE E
ABORT, RETRY, FAIL
then wait a few seconds and enter R

if it still fails, insert a known good cd, wait a few seconds, then enter dir E:

if this still fails, with the power off disconnect the 'other' CDROM(the one not recognized), boot from floppy, remove the 2nd cd, insert the win98 cd, then type dir E: ... or ... we might expect the cdrom to be d: now ... try dir D: too

Setup is running. Thanks. I had to disconnect the other CD drive. Recommendations for when I get Windows loaded?

Let's get through the win98 installation, then we can retest the other cdrom.

Install complete. Thanks again. I think thats going to enough for today. Who know what tommorrow may bring.
