NTFS vs. FAT32

Hey i was wondering whether or not to convert my drives to NTFS, because 2 people i know have and they say its A LOT faster... Does NTFS look the same as FAT32? What are the differences and which is actually better?

Id appreciate some opinions on the matter, thx.

I'd personally would go with NTFS. Better security for one reason.
