Sorry for butting in... i hope theres no problem 
I would recommend setting Automatic updates to download but notify you on which ones to install also you might want to try COMODO firewall, it's pretty darn good (link in my signature) for AV I'd go with AVG free. Those are my recommendations, you ar free to (or to not) try them, good luck
