I have been told that Core 2 Duo is the new thing. i have a Pentium 4 right now so i kind want to stick with them, but looking at the specs i would go with the AMD. what would other people go with, and why?

i ask to many questions. but as long as people dont get tired of me i am still good.

The core2 is newer and better. AMD dont have the manufacturing capacity so they arent releasing a new chip in response other than the new 4x4 system, if youre buying now get the 6600 if this is a pipe dream and you wont be buying till next year AMD will have something late 2007 worth looking at.
