NSIS is an acronym for Nullsoft Scriptable Install System. It is basically software used to install applications. (Which is why in the site you were looking at referred to "the installer") The error may have occurred as you installed a program which uses NSIS. Here is a link to a list of programs which use NSIS: http://nsis.sourceforge.net/Users

See if you installed any of these programs around the time your problems began. If so, try uninstalling that program and see if it helps.

UPDATE - NSIS ERROR - I Finally fixed the problem -- I noticed that the popup msg had the McAfee Site Advisor" Icon at the bottom of my screen [greybox with red M] [see earlier post with image attachment] so I thought I would uninstall the "Mcafee Site Advisor" to see what/if anything would happen -- I have been running this program now for approx. 2 weeks and no problems so I don't know what caused the NSIS ERROR but anyway and finally [hope hope] the problem is fixed.

TO ALL WHO HELPED ME -- YOU HAVE MY THANX AND APPRECIATION
MERRY XMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR
