Would someone kindly help me out? I am trying to get rid of this awful pop-up toolbar, amazingautossearch. Spybot and AdAware don't touch it, either does McAfee, and deleting it from the Hijack log doesn't do anything either. Please tell me if there is a way to get rid of it, and if anything else looks amiss.

Hey urnxanadu,

Welcome to geekstogo <_<!

Please download this to fix the Start.chm Hijack:
http://tools.zerosre...startchmfix.exe

Run it and extract the folder to the desktop preferably.
Open the folder after extracted.
Double click the fix.bat
Please make sure all Internet Explorer windows are closed.
Only run it once or you will lose the backups although they shouldn't be needed.
Notepad will open at the end with a message and the bad file listing at the end. Reboot Windows and delete that bad file.

Reboot again and lets see a new HiJack This log

If the bad files listing has after it: +++ File read error

This is more than likely a new or different hijack. It means the file is locked for reading.

Apparently, it says there are no bad files. I don't know if I did something wrong. I did not want to run it again, because you advised not to. I'm stuck. Any further advice?
