Hi Guys,

Firstly I am a computer novice and a lot of the stuff here is over my head but I will try to explain my problem aswell as I can.
I recently purchased a Fujitsu Siemens Laptop, I did not however purchase Norton or any anti-virus package, after much Internet browsing I became aware that my laptop was infected with a trojan virus as it kept popping up warning bubbles and the icon was in the bottom right corner tray beside volume control etc. Also in infected my favourites where i had google and when i clicked on google it would take me to an anti-virus software purchase site which of course promised to cure my problems if I bought its products.
I read up on trying to remove it and I ran free versions of Anti Vir & Avg and while they cleared up other infections they could not detect this problem. So I browsed the internet and found a similiar forum where a guy suggested I try this : http://noahdfear.geekstogo.com/ I downloaded it and tried to follow the instructions and started my laptop in safe mode (which i just about managed !) I then went to where Id saved that file and tried to run it but when I opened the folder I could not run the internet required link in the folder and so I double clicked on the other files which opened up various windows with black and white writing and I let them run but they didnt appear to do anything. So I restarted my laptop in normal mode, I got to the login screen and clicked on my username as usual only to be met with this : "dwwin.exe Unable to locate Component - because WINNET.DLL was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem. " So I click ok and then I get
this " Odyssey Client error - Failed to create OdCertLib COM object from the specified COM server error code 0x8007007E Odyssey must terminate " I click ok and the laptop doesnt respond, just stays on the login screen before the start menu screen and i cannot go any further.
So have I done permanent damage to my pc or is there any way I can repair this?
I have read other threads here looking for similiar but I notice people are asked to save certain files and load them up, the problem with mine is that I cant even get to the start menu so how can I actually see if I load a floppy, Im not sure my laptop supports floppys anyway, it does have a CD drive, so perhaps I could save something onto disc and try to load it up but again I cant get past the login menu due to the messages which I wrote above which pop up every time I reboot, excuse my lack of computer knowledge but Im at at my wits end with this,
HELLLLPPP!!!!!!!
I am angry with myself for letting this happen but if any of you guys could offer any help I would so appreciative.
Thanks in advance,
:whistling:

I would see if you could do something in the malware forum. I wonder what you could do by booting the computer into safe mode by hitting the F8 key while booting up. If you can get to safe mode you may be able to do a repair on the computer. Heres some links to look at.

You amy have to do a repair install of XP, but i would check with the malware forum first as even a repair install may not fix a trojan.
