" Notes• To have Windows select the best paging file size, click System managed size. The recommended minimum size is equivalent to 1.5 times the RAM on your computer, and 3 times that figure for the maximum size. For example, if you have 256 MB of RAM, the minimum size is 384 MB, and the maximum size is 1152 MB.

If it still reports low virtual memory

Please follow the procedures outlined here: Malware Removal Guide

You will need a PC which can connect to the internet

Run all the programmes as advised then post a current Hijack This Log in a new topic in the Malware Forum

For the purpose of accurate malware analysis, Hijack This Logs are only dealt with in the Malware Forum. Posting them anywhere else will result in a delayed response

If you are unable to run any of the programmes, please ask for advice in the Malware Forum

hi,

Here's how to check if your virtual memory (also known as swap file or paging file) is set to system managed:

Click on Start > Control Panel
Click on Performance and Maintenance and then on System
Click on the Advanced tab
Under Performance, click on the Settings button (there are three, it's the top one!)
Click on the Advanced tab (yes, this is another advanced tab)
Click on the button labeled Change
You'll now see three options:
- Custom size
- System managed size
- No paging file

You should see the System managed size option selected, if not, select it and click Set followed by OK. If you don't want to make a change, click Cancel

cheers...xxx1
