Is there any other way to get to safe mode instead of holding F8 when the computer starts? It doesn't show up when i press or hold F8. I need to do a clean up, PC is acting strange. Thank you.

You don't press and hold the F8 key during bootup to get into Safe Mode. You hit the power button on the computer and as soon as it turns on, you tap the F8 key about once every second until the menu appears allowing you to boot into safe mode.

there are three ways to get into safe mode,
- the one mentioned above
- choosing safe in msconfig
- the crude way

crude way of getting to safemode
- take out battery(if laytop)
- have mains connected
- turn on computer
- after 20 seconds pull out mains plug
- reconnect plug
- turn on computer
should boot directly into choice of safemode
