SD card problems

I just had my first lan party and I took loads of photos using my new SD card. I can take photos, save and delete etc on my camera but when I put it into my computer it says "Format now?" or something.

If i say yes will i lose all my pictures?

Yes, I believe it you will lose everything. Do you have any other device that can read the SD card (PDA or external reader)? Perhaps you can take it to the photo department at Walmart, Walgreens, or CVS, or a photography store and ask them to confirm the contents.
