Internet explorer 6 error message

well for the past week or so i have been getting the same error message as follows.

Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close.

AppName: iexplore.exe AppVer: 6.0.2900.2180 ModName: ntdll.dll
ModVer: 5.1.2600.2180 Offset: 000106ce

any :whistling: would be great thanks.

Do you have antivirus and anti-spyware software installed? Are they udpated and do you run regular scans? Do that first.

What happened with or on your computer a week ago that might have contributed to this issue? Is there any kind of pattern with when or where the errors occur?

yes i run regular scans two a week. nothing major happen recently that would make me think this would start happening i havent been infected with any viruses or anything like that. im usually just surfing the web when it happens my virus protection never alerted me that anything was wrong.

You might try running system file checker. Click Start, Run, type in SFC /scannow. You may need your Windows CD in the drive.

What antivirus are you running?
