The error indicates a service or program is conflcting at shutdown. Take a look at the services on your computer and let us know if any are being run as your user account. Click Start, Run, type in services.msc, click OK. You'll see five colums in the Services console. The last one one the right is "Log on As". Click the column header to sort the column and scroll down to view all the user names the different services use. Do
any use your specific user account name? If so, please list.

It may be as simple as changing the account for those services.

There's only: Network Service, Local System, and Local Service.

The User Hive cleanup didn't work. For the changing account, if I turned off the computer with the new account and logged off the new one, would that tell if creating a new account will fix the problem?

You'll need to shutdown several times using the new account, trying to recreate anything you did under the old account when the shutdown didn't work like it was supposed to. Then if all your shutdowns actually shutdown instead of restart, you're fixed.

It his fixed the problem., here's a link to assist in copying stuff from the old profile to the new one.

The new account restarted on the second turn off. There wasn't a registry problem though.

might want to try cleaning the registry...get regseeker here...

http://www.snapfiles.../regseeker.html

after installing ...run and on the left side click on clean the registry...let it run...wait until its done...then at the bottom click on select all.... twice...then on your KEYBOARD...press delete...then click on exit...(left side)

it makes a backup so don't be afraid...
