Ok I just tried slaving it to another machine but it says it can't find the secondary drive.
The machine I'm trying to slave to an XP home edition and the one I am having trouble with is professional would that make a differance?

Yup sure did its still saying can't find secondary drive.

Are you connecting to the center connector of the cable? Is the power cable in tight.

Yes I'm connecting to the center connector and the power is in tight. Is there anything else I could be doing wrong?

Hmmmm....

Does the drive spin up when you start the machine?

Check in the BIOS and see if it is detected there. Make sure that it is set to "Auto" detect.

yes both the drives spin. I went to the bios and made sure it was AUTO and I'm still getting the same [bleep] thing.

Try jumpering to cable select (CS) and see if it will detect.

Alright so I just did the cable select and I'm still getting the same thing with not being able to find the secondary drive. I'm starting to think I"m screwed. Man I just don't see how turning off the computer during IE7 install that it did this, it doesn't make sense to me?

I don't see how it happened, either...but it stripped the file system.

That's not what we're dealing with now, though. We need to figure out why the second machine is not finding the drive. I should see it even if it's raw so certainly should see this one.

Is there a cd-rom drive on the same cable or are you connecting it by itself?

Well what I had to do was since the cable to the hard drive didn't have a middle connecter I unhooked the cd rom drive and used that cable to slave the hard drive but its still not finding the drive. I'm about to leave work now and my computer stays at the office, is it possible for me to pick this up tomorrow morning??

No, we've tried everything I found...

When you say you unhooked the cd-rom drive and hooked the HDD as a slave, is it the same cable the master HDD is on? Or did you completely disconnect the cd-rom that's on the secondary IDE channel?

Alright well I finally was able to slave the drive and when try to access the slaved drive it says the "Drive is not accessible. The Disk Structure is corrupted and unreadable." So I take it there the data I have on that hard drive I will not be able to get it correct?
