i recently bought a used computer on the side of the computer it has the key code for xp when it starts up it has a copy right for me. now my question is when i turn on the computer it says boot disk failure please insert systems disk and press enter.

i was not given any systems disk and this is as far as i have gotten into the boot up so i have no way to make a copy. is there anyway to get to them with out getting into windows

You may have a hard drive that has been wiped and does not have any operating system on the computer at all. If you have a XP CD you can boot from it and install XP as long as the COA sticker on the side of the computer has the 5 sets of 5 numbers/letters for that computer. Some COA stickers only give you the oem product I numbers and they will not let the computer get thru the activation process.

No guarantee but you can try one of these CD's if you don't have a XP cd. Just try buying for the make/model that your computer is.
