My ethernet port no longer works. It acts as if there is nothing pluged into it, no lights turn on or anything. It had been working fine and when i went to network connection there was no local area connection option. Is there anyway i can reinstall it?

Do you get anywhere if you clear the address bar completely and type 192.168.0.1

The card itself can be dead.
But first try refreshing the driver, uninstall it from the device mgr and reboot the computer. Windows will detect the hardware and reinstall the correct drivers.
NEXT...try dumping the network. From a command prompt enter the following command
NETSH DUMP then reboot the computer.
