i do not know if this is allowed, but i am having the same problem as the person who started this thread.... is it ok if i ask my own questions or is this not allowed? i have been following up and trying things out up to post 15. Should i just start my own new thread? What should i do?

Sorry Keith,

Forgot to post back and let you know the problem is now fixed.... Got tired of monkeying around with this troubleshooting (didn't want to install any additional software just to share files and printers - since windows is supposed to do this) and just reformatted and reinstalled. after that i ran SpaceCowboy's tutorial (before installing any virus protectors or firewall or microsoft poatches and now my file and porint sharing is working fantastic.

Thanks for all the help anyways for everyone who assisted. :whistling:
