I am running Windows XP and when I make a new user account I try to delete an icon from the desktop on one account and it deletes on the other account as well. How can I delete a desktop icon on a user account and have that icon stay on the other account. Basically I want to unconnect the 2 accounts since they seemed to be linked.

Theory: those icons are actually located on All Users' desktop. Browse to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Desktop. Cut/paste one of the icons from there to your desktop. Log in with the other user account and confirm whether you see it or not.

If this isn't it, post back.
