Last week I was infected with PestTrap. I believe that I've successfully removed it. All the virus/ad scanners come up clean. I cannot find anything that needs to be removed in my hijackthis log. However, three things are now happening. 1) my system is much slower than before, 2) my background loads and then is replaced by a blue screen and 3) when I shut down the system, an End Program box pops up with 'WindowsParkingFrameWindow'. Also, I can change the blue screen to any color but the background selection dialog box is not selectable. When I shut down, my background becomes visible momentarily. Unfortunatly, while following the instructions prior to uploading my hijackthis log I deleted the system restore points as instructed. I think what is happening is that something got hosed during the PestTrap removal an there is a Java app that is crashing, at least that's what I get from googling 'WindowsParkingFrameWindow'. I've updated to the latest Java runtime. Short of re-formatting the HD is there anything I can do?

Thanks in Advance
mike

OK, it is pointless to advise you to do anything until you have the all clear from security here(after someone there has seen the htj log that is), if they say you are clean then yes there are various ways to tidy up the system but they will probably tell you that there and then

that is the right idea but you need to post it in security link below then close this thread here because nobody will post to a hjt thread outside security
