While downloading the latest version of media player, my dial-up internet connection disconnected and the download stopped. since then i have not been able to access media player even thought the shourtcuts in my start menu are still there. for unamed reasons i cannot simply 're-download' media player and was wondering if using "system restore" to go back to the time before all this occured (when media player was working before the failed download) would bring back my working media player?

Hi titania666. Welcome to G2G. Give it a try if
it don't work you can always undo the restore proint
and put back the way it is now.

Hit,Start, all programs, Accessories, system tools, system
Restore, click on restore my computer to an earlier time, then
pick a date before the problem. then click next.
if that don't work try this
hope that works for you.
