I installed DirectX 9 and everything for this game on my laptop which seems to fit the requirement and when I booted up the game it gave me a directx 9 error.

Can someone please help me?

I'm sorry but laptops can't play cod2 or any new games because of the intel graphics. I myself had to get a desktop computer to play my games.

This has refreshed my mind, I had heard something about laptops not being able to play certain games.

So my laptop cannot play COD2 even if the requirements are met because of the intel gfx card?

Yes your laptop will simply not be able to play Call Of Duty 2.
