is there anyway to transport internet video files (youtube, etc) to your computer so that you can burn it to a dvd?

only if the site in question gives instructions or a button to download the video...if the website in question doesn't give you such information then it is implied that downloading the videos (or saving them in any other way) is concidered copywrite infringement and therefore illegal..

because of this...we can't help you here with this issue
