Alright, long tim no see... I currently got some wierd stuff going on with my computer.

When I first got it I was using IE, instead of my normal browser and all this stuff started to install itself using the command prompt windows and such and I got this little X icon in my task bar that was saying that my computer was infected, Yes the infection was telling me that it was indeed something that shouldn't be there and tried to play itself off as some anti virus that I didn't want. Well I nuked a bunch of crap by fixing stuff w/ Ewido and Hijack this.. and then norton auto detected some trojans and tried to kill some but couldn't repair...

So I have tried running these scans in safe mode, but I cant seem to get into safe mode.. my keyboard is deciding not to load up in time before the F8 can register... Anyways. here is the hyjack this log..

Help will be appreciated.

The only problem I see right now with my computer is two things. 1. Rediculously long load times when I first log into my user. and 2. Once the lag clears up my desktop wallpaper will disappear and the background will be all grey and buttons are unselectable when trying to change things in the desktop properties windows.

Edit: Looking into the norton activity history the name of the thing it found is ntsystem.exe Threatname: Trojan.Desktophijack and it was found in the system32 folder

Hello NeueZiel

Please download SmitfraudFix (by S!Ri)
Extract the content (a folder named SmitfraudFix) to your Desktop.

Open the SmitfraudFix folder and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
Select option #1 - Search by typing 1 and press "Enter"; a text file will appear, which lists infected files (if present).
Please copy/paste the content of that report into your next reply.

Note : process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a "RiskTool"; it is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user.

The following is a list of tools and utilities that I like to suggest to people. This list is full of great tools and utilities to help you understand how you got infected and how to keep from getting infected again.

Spybot Search & Destroy-Uber powerful tool which can search and annhilate nasties that make it onto your system. Now with an Immunize section that will help prevent future infections.

Ad-Aware-Another very powerful tool which searches and kills nasties that infect your system. AdAware and Spybot Search & Destroy compliment each other very well.

Spyware Blaster - Great prevention tool to keep nasties from installing on your system.

Sywareguard-Works as a Spyware "Shield" to protect your computer from getting malware in the first place.

IE-SPYAD- puts over 5000 sites in your restricted zone so you'll be protected when you visit innocent-looking sites that aren't actually innocent at all.

Cleanup-Cleans temporary files from IE and Windows, empties the recycle bin and more. Great tool to help speed up your computer and knock out those nasties that like to reside in the temp folders.

Windows Updates - It is very important to make sure that both Internet Explorer and Windows are kept current with the latest critical security patches from Microsoft. To do this just start Internet Explorer and select Tools > Windows Update, and follow the online instructions from there.

Google- Free google toolbar that allows you to use the powerful Google search engine from the bar, but also blocks pop up windows.

Trillian or Miranda-These are Malware free Instant Messenger programs which allow you to connect to multiple IM services in one program! (AOL, Yahoo, ICQ, IRC, MSN)

Castle Cops To find out more information about how you got infected in the first place and some great guidelines to follow to prevent future infections you can read this article by Tony Klein.

If you have any further problems please feel free to contact G2Go.:whistling:
