So on this computer I had to redo the HD after making a pretty stupid mistake. Before I erased everything I saved all the Oulook folders found deep in Documents and Settings to another folder. Now that I have the machine up again I would like to get all that info imported back into Outlook but I can't seem to be able to do it using the normal Import/Export feature under the file tab. Whenever I go to Import the info it tells me their isn't an email account to import from.

How do I fix that and get the info into the computer?

Thanks in advance.

Did you export the data from Outlook, or just copy the folders?

What exactly have you done in Outlook? Please be specific.

i just copied the folders. I could'nt export the data as I couldn't get the machine to boot up. Otherwise I wouldn't even be asking right now. I just used MiniPE to get into the HD and copy all the files from the Outlook Folder in documents and settings.

Okay, so then what exactly have you done in Outlook so far?

Since you're copying the data back in, instead of importing it, you'll still have to set up the email account.

What kind of files did you copy? Were there just PST files or OST also?

Its mostly just Office Data files. Theirs a couple of XML's. No PST's that I can see.

Just to get this machine up and running I set up the POP email accounts. Shes uses 4 of them. Their receiving email again. Its just her old email and contact list that I am looking for.

In most cases where the email is POP3 and doesn't run through an Exchange server, the user's Outlook data is contained in a .PST file located at C:\documents and settings\UserName\local settings\application data\microsoft\Outlook. Without that file, I don't know of a way to resurrect the data.

What are the names (and locations) of the files you copied?
