here we go again....

I recently had a computer virus that completely screwed up my system - Cretemonster was kind enough to spend ALOT of time getting me up and running though we had to use an upgrade CD that I borrowed because the recovery console was giving me this same error. "user partition cannot be created" I did not want to leave the "borrowed system upgrade" on my computer so I called to get a set of recovery disks.

I have been trying to install them - I first tried a simple recovery and was told that it could not do it because it could not make a recovery partition? (I think) Then I tried the format the disk all data will be lost recovery and installed all 7 disks - it went on to tell me that it would be installing XP into a User partition - then told me it could not create a user partition.

NOW WHAT DO I DO?????

This is an HP Pavilion 7955 that had the hard drive replaced about 3 years ago.
