Hi everyone, pls can someone help me im desperate im moments away from formatting my computer.

My computer keeps giving me the error saying that the file uxtheme.dll is not found try to install it to fix the problem. I get no windows though at all as it does not allow Explorer to boot at all all i get is a screen with my background and nothing else.
Is there a way to reinstall this file through the recovery console on my XP cd?????? There must be.

Im running windows Xp SP2

Can you boot into windows using either "Safe Mode" or "Last known good configuration" from the "Advanced Startup Menu"? To get the Advanced menu, tap the F8 key during the boot sequence.

Yes. But I get uxtheme.dll loaded then it says dll reg service entry point was not found. What can I do to fix?

Click Start, then Run, type system32 and press "Enter". In the System32 folder, see if you can locate the file uxtheme.dll (should be towards the bottom). Right click on it, if you find it, and choose "Delete"...accept the change.

Download the attached zip file and save it to your desktop. Right click on it and choose "Extract All". Extract it to c:\windows\system32. Reboot.

Do you still get the error after doing this?

I get : Explorer.exe - Unable to Locate Component
This app. has failed to start because UxYheme.dll was not found.
I click OK and get: Windows can not find system32

yah, im having this problem now. how to load the uxtheme.dll since i cannot get my windows.
and im using windows vista..
its just blank..
pls i need help...
i dun really understand what u teached to 'muppet_3000' cause im a computer noob..
