Hi all (esp keith and wannabe1)

Happy Holidays!!! :help: :)

I have a problem. I purchased the 2007 McAfee Security Suite which includes a antivirus program. When trying to install it, I get an error message saying I have to remove AdAware SE Personal. I went into the add/remove portion and did just that.

I tried reinstalling several times, and to no avail. It still says I have to remove the Ad Adware SE. I called tech support at McAfee and they said they cannot help me and I have to talk to tech support with AdAware.

I hate to beg ya all on XMAS, but when I installed the new 2007 version of McAfee, it installed everything but the a/v.--meaning I have no a/v at this time, since it removed older versions of McAfee 2006.

Is there a way to remove this adaware progrram so I can load the a/v from McAfee?

Thanks in advance and again Happy Holidays.....

Have you tried start/search/click all files and folders/type in Ad aware/click search?
This usually works to find any files to remove.

And one more thing...be prepared to have a much slower computer after installing McAfee.

well keith,
it still says i have to remove Ad Aware SE Personal, because it conflicts with what I am trying to install. BUT, as I have said, it is not on my laptop anymore. (or so I can see)

I will await your reply while YOU try to solve this. In the mean time, is there a free download you recommend for a/v, since I have none right now?
