Need help! Problems installing SP2!

I am trying to install service pack 2 on Windows XP so I can run some video editing software. I downloaded the SP from Microsoft but when I try to install it it says "Office Hotfix Installer has encountered problems..." and shuts down. Any way I can install it? Any suggestions?
