win xp wont boot up...

Yep. Changed back the mup.sys. Am trying boot logging now. Its just gone to black screen. Puter dont seem like its doing much, no lights or hard drive sounds, just fan.

ok so what happens if you put you backup disc in? I doubt if it will load as you do not have the program? anyway put your disk in and change to the cd drive.
do a dir on the drive are there any exe files listed?
Was the new keyboard the only thing you changed?

nope. still sitting on black screen, still no noise other than fan.

The keyboard was the only thing i changed, and if it wasnt for spybot tea timer kicking in again after start-up, nothing else would have been changed. ( I hate it n im never using it again.)

ok now that you have set boot logging try safe mode again
When you get the error try the esc key

Nope, no luck. same screen, ending in mup.sys, and esc does nothing.

nope. :whistling: no joy. bad command or file name. but if i do it with cd in front i get invalid switch - /fix

ok c:>cd\windows enter
c:\windows>scanreg /fix(note the space) Enter
The only other option I can think of if this does not work is try andr replace the NTLDR and the ntdectet
but not hopeful :whistling:

yeah pretty sure i did try that boot disk.
i mean will have to wait til puter shop reopens n get them to fix it, or what if i buy an upgrade pack? can i run recovery of that? i can get my hands on xp disk but its for acer laptop, my pc is celeron.
