I need some new software to burn MP3 discs since my old software doesnt support DL drives. The products i have been looking at are roxio Easy Media Creator 9 and Nero 7 unltra edition enhanced. I know these are bundle products and I'm mainly using it for music only but do occasionally mess around with DVD's and pictures. Ive heard bad reviews about both products though and since you cant return software once its opened want to make sure i make the right choice. If anyone knows the differences between the two or have any experience with either it would be greatly appreciated

I really think it's just a matter of preference on what burning suite you use. I had the Roxio software before it was bought by roxio. Back then it had problems so i switched to Nero5. Since then i have used at least 5 burning softwares and find all of them adequate. One software i just got for free and upgraded recently( to the 6 version for $15) was the Ashampoo 7 software which i found quite easy to use and had no problems burning data and music cd's with. The 7 version was a slightly crippled version of the 6 software. This software is no longer offered.

I still like and use Nero 7. My most recent nero suite i installed was the nero essentials suite which is nero 7 with some of the extras not included. It is a OEM package so there is no updates or support. It still works well.

A few others i have used fell by the wayside simply because they lacked some features that others had. All of them burned music and data cd's just fine.
