Hello chrisanten and welcome to G2G's Malware Forum.

I see in your title that you mention sdbot. What scan told you that you are infected with this bot? Do you still have the scan results? If so, please include them in your next reply, along with any other requested logs.

You've also got mulitple AV's running. That's not a good thing. Let's decide which to keep and get an uninstall list.
  • Let's get an Uninstall List from HijackThis:
    • Open HijackThis, click Config, click Misc Tools
    • Click "Open Uninstall Manager"
    • Click "Save List" (generates uninstall_list.txt)
    • Click Save, copy and paste the results in your next post.
  • I see that you are running two (2) Anti-Virus programs. While, in theory, that may sound like a good thing, it is actually not. Any time you have two AV's both with realtime protection running, you are more apt to have problems with them conflicting with each other and causing all kinds of problems. Please review the AV's listed below and decide which to keep and which to get rid of.
    • Anti-Vir
    • Prevx
  • Please re-open HiJackThis and scan and save a new log file.
  • Post Logs
    • Uninstall List
    • New Hijack This Log
Also, do you recognize this file:

E:\Setup.exe

Let me know and we'll continue.

Not too much sticking out in the Uninstall List. Looks like Prevx is gone. Your Java is outdated and you've got LimeWire installed. I'll address that first and we'll get Java's newest and then wave the SDFix tool over it to make sure the bot is gone.
You may also want to change your passwords on any banking, financial, shopping or any other site that you may have accessed from the infected computer, obviously using another computer to do so.
  • Please Read this writeup and this article so you better understand the dangers of file sharing. If you continue this risky behavior you will be continually reinfected.
  • Update Java:
Click here to download the latest version of java ( Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 ). Please install it and then reboot your computer.
  • Remove Questionable Programs. Go to Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs. Scroll down to and highlight each of the following programs and select uninstall/remove:
    • J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 8<-----Not bad but Outdated.
    • J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 9<-----Not bad but Outdated.
    • LimeWire 4.12.6<-----At least until we're done. So no new nasties show up.
  • Download SDFix and save it to your desktop.
  • Double click SDFix.exe and it will extract the files to %systemdrive%
(Drive that contains the Windows Directory, typically C:\SDFix)

Please then reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following :
    • Restart your computer
    • After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;
    • Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu with options should appear;
    • Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press "Enter".
    • Choose your usual account.
    • In Safe Mode, right click the SDFix.zip folder and choose Extract All,
    • Open the extracted folder and double click RunThis.bat to start the script.
    • Type Y to begin the script.
    • It will remove the Trojan Services then make some repairs to the registry and prompt you to press any key to Reboot.
    • Press any Key and it will restart the PC.
    • Your system will take longer that normal to restart as the fixtool will be running and removing files.
    • When the desktop loads the Fixtool will complete the removal and display Finished, then press any key to end the script and load your desktop icons.
    • Finally open the SDFix folder on your desktop and copy and paste the contents of the results file Report.txt back onto the forum with a new HijackThis log
  • Please re-open HiJackThis and scan and save a new log file.
  • Post Logs
    • SDFix Results (Report.txt)
    • New Hijack This Log

Hiya, thanks for your help sorry for the delay in replying but it took me a while to recover from new year :whistling:

No problem.. Hope you had a good one.

I'm not seeing any signs of anything in your log, including SDBot. Let's try the Panda scan again and see if it still finds anything. It's possible that it did infact get rid of it, but this can be a persistent infection.
  • Run Panda online virus scanner.
Please go HERE to run Panda's ActiveScan
    • Once you are on the Panda site click the Scan your PC button
    • A new window will open...click the Check Now button
    • Enter your Country
    • Enter your State/Province
    • Enter your e-mail address and click send
    • Select either Home User or Company
    • Click the big Scan Now button
    • If it wants to install an ActiveX component allow it
    • It will start downloading the files it requires for the scan (Note: It may take a couple of minutes)
    • When download is complete, click on My Computer to start the scan
    • When the scan completes, if anything malicious is detected, click the See Report button, then Save Report and save it to a convenient location.
    • Post the contents of the ActiveScan report.
  • Please re-open HiJackThis and scan and save a new log file.

Hi Chris,

Since Panda seems to be having trouble, let's try a different scan.
  • Run an Online Scan at http://www.trendmicr...tro/default.asp
    • Click 'Scan Now. It's Free'
    • Make sure 'Yes, I accept the Terms of Use' is checked and click the Launch Housecall button.
    • You may be prompted by a Security Warning. Select Run to allow the appliation to Proceed
    • Click 'Scan'
    • Now, select Next under Scan complete computer for malware, grayware and vulnerabilities
    • Your entire computer will now be scanned.
    • Play the 5 question trivia (that never changes) to pass a small amount of time (optional, of course)
    • Take note of any files that can not be cleaned by the scan, write them down and manually delete them (from safe mode if need be)
    • If you need help deleting and object, post the name and location in your thread or start a new thread IF you don't already have one started.
    • Save any log file that it creates for posting back here..
  • Click here to download BitDefender RootkitUncover.
    • Double click the bitdefender_antirootkit-BETA2 icon.
    • Review the licence agreement and check the I accept the licence agreement box
    • Then click Next > and Scan
    • Allow the program to scan your computer - please be patient as it may take some time
    • Once the scan has completed, click Next >
    • If any items are found, please copy and paste the details into this thread along with your next reply
  • Please re-open HiJackThis and scan and save a new log file.
  • Post Logs

Hi again, Chris.

Log looks good. :whistling:

Do you still have the TrendMicro results? I'd like to look them over to make sure that nothing was found that might require a little extra help to be evicted permanently. If not, that's OK, just let me know and we'll get you some ending protection that will help in the future.
