can i install from the live cd through the msdos? i cant get the live cd to boot, starts bringing up a million errors

still want to install, i have 1.8ghz celeron with 640mbs ram, i cant get the live cd to boot the desktop. it goes to the install, try ubuntu, and chk mem etc

yea, no its not corrupt i have tried 3 cds

these are from them i did not burn them

Are you trying to install this from the initail boot or from windows. It will not work if trying to install from windows.

tried a few dif drives, and no i have no windows on hdd, i have a blank formated disk

Get the latest firmware/driver for your CD/DVD Drive. This was the reason Vista wouldn't boot for me but I still could read CDs/DVDs. Just not boot.

the one is compaq, and the other is emachine. wont work on either of these, BUT i cant get it to load on another compaq in the living room

Try the "alternate" installation CD or the server CD instead of the live CD. I frequently have issues with the live CD on various machines.
