AIM Screen Name Hack. I've come across this infection via XoftSpySE. It looks like it is a very dangerous infection, and one that i need to remove ASAP.

The programs i've got are:

NOD32
Ez Anti Virus
SpyBot S & D
SpyBlaster
ZoneAlarm
Ad-Aware

And none can remove it.

I've had a look at the personal details via the XoftSpySE scan and the only effect of the infection is to get personal data. I also had CWW, but promply deleted that, as that has pop ups and the like.

Thanks in advance.

(Free software would be better, i'm already paying for some) :whistling:

We can definitely help you, but first you need to help us. The first step in this process is to apply Service Pack 1a for Windows XP. Without this update, you're wide open to re-infection, and we're both just wasting our time.
Apply the update, reboot, and post a fresh Hijack This log.

Mate,

Had an absolute nightmare with the PC. I was locked out of my own PC, but obviously now that is rectified. I'd just like your guidance on what you think i need to stay clean.
