I keep getting a pop-up that says :

I click OK and right after that another one pops up...and says the excat same thing. How do i make tee things go away?

I would recommend not clicking anything, to me it looks like it could be a virus, but im not 100% sure. First thing: Download HiJackThis. Second thing: Make a new post in the Malware forum with your HiJackThis log and a description of what is happening. They should be able to tell you what is wrong.

From what I can see that is part of a program called HomeNet Manager.
Do you have this program loaded to your knowlodge?
It looks like it is trying to update itself.

well i did a norton virus scan and it came back with nuthing but iono how acurate it really is. And im not sure about the programs..i just got the laptop for christms so i havent done a wholelot to it exept put internet on it. Wireless internet.if that helps any. Do you think i should allow it and hope it dosent screw my computor up?

I suggest that you use AdAware, Spybot and A-Squared on it as well as getting a couple of on-line scans. See the malware removal section of the forum for complete instructions, including how to install HijackThis and post a log for analysis. Any idea where it came from?

I just ran a more extensive google search than the first time, and Peter seems to be right. Ahh I was wrong for once, happens to everone . If I caused any confusing I sincerly apoligize. However this is how many viruses seem to happen. Just a curiosity - what do you mean by "popup"? Is it just a regular old Windows window?

As for that: it does look like a valid program, however my gut isnt completly convince for some reason. It just seems wrong to me. Do as I suggested above and post in the Malware forum with a HiackThis log,

However if you dont want to wait for the over-swamped Malware forum, you can allow it. If worst comes to worst theres always reformatting, and since you havnt had the computer long it hopefully wont miss much, but it might be a good file after all.

Ahh, ok. I dont know how to help you further, I could tell you to delete the file, but as I stated above it might be a valid file that you need. I would recommend:

A) Try a search like Peter suggested. He is most likely right. Try and let it go through and see what happens. There shouldnt be any problem.

B) Download HiJackThis and post in the Malware forums.

Ok when you edit a post and add something new it does not let us know so you are best to add a new reply that is why I missed it.
Go to Start > control Panel > add remove programs do you see the program
listed in here.
