Thanks, Keith. I did actually download and install that. I'm not quite sure how to (or if you can) integrate that with the backup and restore functions.

When people say they have an image of their system, I was assuming that meant a backup, but maybe that's incorrect. Let's say that prior to my virus, I had backed up my system. Since the only way to recover from the virus damage was to wipe my hard drive and reinstall XP, would I have then been able to restore from a backup? (assuming I have backup software that would recognize my DVD RW drive)
