i have a hp and made one set of dvds for recovery disks>>there were 3 in that set
if i were to make regular cds it required 18 of them
so im not exactly sure what you mean by one set

You can get a new hard drive, any of the major brands comes with installation software, and make a drive to drive copy of your old hard drive to the new one. The new one can be quite a bit larger than the old one, but not smaller. This is a simple, fairly inexpensive way to back up your system in cases where you don't have the installation disks. The safest course is to put one disk away so that a power surge or other problem won't damage both disks.

the hp i own can make as many recovery sets as it wants
instead of a reformat can you dou a system recovery not a restore but a recovery
this can be found in all programs with pc help and tools
you should see system recovery
if that dont work you need a xp cd with product key to do a reformat

The (Windows XP home) key code is on the side of the computer but we do not have the disks. When he bought new he burned the recovery cd’s but he it said it would only let him burn 1 set. How do we format and reload Windows XP home with out the disks.

If none of these options are suitable
http://h10025.www1.h...;product=299510
Use Live Chat here to ask for a list of options
http://ipgweb.cce.hp...t...ng=en&cc=us
An advantage of using Live Chat services is that they usually stick with it until it is resolved as they are too embarrassed to say they cannot fix it
