How can I view a webcam output directly on the computer monitor. and without motion lag.

I would also like to display full screen, or use two USB webcams to display upper and lower on a horizontally split screen (or output to two screens via a dual output graphics adaptor.)

The nearest application I have found, in web searching, is house security programmes using a mass of internet functions I do not require.

I have tried some freeware programmes but have been unable to get them to link with the webcam.

Possibly this should be posted under software but searches on webcam were more informative.

I am using win98SE as an initial set up but propose to build a AMD64 / XP machine.
