Hi everyone,

I really hope that somebody can help me out. My fiance lives in the states and it is costing us a fortune to call each other every night. We hit upon the idea of talking over the internet to save on phone bills as we were told that the connection is just as good as a phone connection. we have both got mics and AOL IM software but the problem is that my computer won't detect my mic. :D I am not a computer expert and don't know what to do. I have tried clicking on the 'add new hardware' icon but its not giving me the option to add a mic! :P HELP!!!!!! <_<

Thankyou very much, :D

Go to your control panel, and find the icon for "sounds and audio devices" (or something similar). Open it up and explore the tabs. There should be a check box to enable the mic port. It's usually off by default.

P.S. AIM should work fine <_<
