My cd/dvd burner always fails at either 6% on nero burning rom or 8% on nero start smart , always without writing anything to the cd , so it stays clean. it never works , i've tried with a few files and a few burning programs , I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the burner thru drive manager , and still nothing. I tried to burned , and saved a log when it faile :

Firmware update to what?
Nero? Is there a built in updater to nero?
To the burner itself? I never even had software for that other then the windows auto thing?

It's an Aopen dvd/cd-rw , can anyone help me , because I don't really have the model , or any knowledge as to how to find said driver.

Click start, right click my computer, click properties, hardware, device manager

Click the + next to DVD / CD Drives, does it give a model number?

When I try to install either the windows or dos thing , it says no matching drive detected???

If you go to device manager, click the + for DVD CD drives, right click the Aeopen one, click uninstall, confirm, reboot

Try the firmware

do you have the full version of nero or trial because you can only get updates with full version of nero.
