Listen: I just created a home network. My desktop is running ME. My wireless laptop is running that Spyware magnet XP. Due to a series of unforunate events I needed to re install my ME from scratch and now when the machine boots up I get a dialog box that asks me for a password.
Now take the Red pill.
I can log onto the ME from the Xp while the password box is up. However, as soon as I hit enter or cancel and the ME machine finishes booting up I am no longer able to get on the network from my XP...????????????????

ok lets see..

my first question is, are you getting a "wireless connection unavailable" or are you getting a connection but cant go online or what not? If you are receiving a connection but cannot go online then try disabling the connection then enabling. To do this, right click on the network system tray icon and then hit open network connections. Then right click on the wireless network connection and click disable. Wait a couple seconds, right click on wireless network connection and hit enable.

Also, have you tried reconfiguring your XP for the router. you can start by typing 192.168.1.1 in the address bar of internet explorer. When prompted for password, leave the user name blank and the password is admin. Check the settings and make sure your ISP username and password is correct. Also refer to the manual that came with it.

I have a linksys wireless router also. i will look more into with my manual. let me know how it goes.

Sounds like to me possibly that your windows xp machine may be sharing the same computer name or ip address on the network. You can only have 1 computer name and 1 ip address on a LAN. If you get a message on your XP machine stating that there was an ip address conflict then you need to change the address.. you may want to enable DHCP in your tcp/ip settings.. If it still doesnt work you may want to reset the router...
