new system ,now ive got white pixels round my icons

hi there, ive just built a new system with a 512 mb graphics card, and on my desktop in windows (and some other places) there is a white allmost pixely outline, is this something in the setting, or have i done something wrong, please help. many thanks, this is an amazing site by the way

Did you use the drivers that came with the Video Card?
