hi
before you do anything

i want you to search All files and folder for the exe search just for the ones marked with red X's.
The ones marked with N's can be stopped in msconfig.
The ones with Y's need to be left alone.

http://www.bleepingc...r.com/startups/
need to ask and know
are there any .EXE files that are required from MYSQL
other than that

go to contol panel
add/remove programs an remove
MYSQL
it should be there
if your system requires it
then you can download another
from here

http://www.cs.trinit...SQLWindows.html

post the other problems your having

Hi and thanks. Your going to have to speak in my terms for me to understand what you are telling me to do. I don't understand. Where do I find the files and folders with an x? The other problems that had poped up were with my printer. I fixed that and the other was after I finish reading a page and close it a box will pop up saying something about iexplorer.exe and has some number with it. I will write it down the next time I see it. The iexplorer.exe things happens a lot the sql thing only happens when I start up my comuter.
Thanks

Ok, I went to the controll panel add/remove and there are three different entries.
Microsoft SQL Server Native Client
Microsoft SQL Server Setup Support File (English)
Microsoft SQL Server VSS Writer

Are you telling me that I need to remove these three?

We will see if we can disable Mysql from start-up

From start>>run>>type this in the run box>> msconfig >>click ok

the system configuration utility should open>>>look for the start-up tab>>scroll down looking for any SQL
when you see one or any uncheck the box>>then apply or click ok>>this will ask you to restart as well

check another thing after your computer restarted

From start>>run>>type this in the run box>>services.msc >>click ok
services should open>>scrolldown look for Mysql right click on it and and stop

after your done this restart your computer

and see if the MYSQL is not showing up at start-up

Ok, here is what I have done. msconfig did not show sql, so closed and restarted. box popped up again.
then went and did services.msc ; was one SQL Server VVS Writer when I right click the only options is start, all task and Properties. If I click on all task on start is avaible; if I click on properties the window shows startup type as automatic status as stopped. if I hit the start word in the left panel the box pops up that pops up when I start my computer: It states
SQLDUMPER library failed initialization. Your installation is either corrupt or has been tampered with. Please unistall then re-rum setup to correct this problem.
I left and restarted. box still starts up. this last time when I restarted another box popped up to install adobe flash update. I installed the update. I have not seen the iexplorer.exe pop up for some time now.

Can you tell me what is the SQL thing? and what does it do?

Thanks

Hi DottyJ...

MySQL is a database management tool. Do you remember installing this?

Download and run HiJackThis on the machine...save a log. Open the log and copy/paste it here for me. This will help us see where that popup might be coming from. I'm not looking for malware, but would like to see what's starting when you start the machine and where it's running from.

wannabe1, I have no idea what you are talking about. I clicked on
HiJackThis and it took me to another page. I did not see anything
to download.

Is this problem something that can harm my computer or is it just
an annoyance until I get it fixed?

Thank for all your help rushin1nd and wannabe1
