Hi,

I am a graphic designer with sound html and flash knowledge. I am thinking about starting off a wallpaper site.
something quite similar to : www.santabanta.com/wallpapers

As I have minimal backend scripting knowledge, I am thinking about going with standard scripts like "Coppermine Photo gallery" or "Gallery". Which type of hosting and what approach would you recommend for such a venture..?

Ideally I would like the main page of my webpage to contain thumbnails of the newly added images. I do not think this is possible with Gallery. Any comparisons (beween Coppermine and gallery or 4images) with respect to features and future portability is welcome..

Any suggestions guys..?

Coppermine gives you the ability to add photos to the front page. I did with mine.

http://www.eoutdoorsman.com/gallery

I have it set to pull random images (not newest) from the gallery and display them as very small thumbnails at the bottom of the main page.

Its quite configurable, you can set it to the size that you prefer, you can tell it how many to display, and you can set how they look (borders and such).

ScHwErV those buttons saying your page is valid xhtml and css are a bit incorrect don't you think?

I wrote a gallery kind of script, but is is hardly going to be what you want. http://testomoz.org/...s/comic_gallery
