Okay, here's the problem.

About 6 months ago, I uninstalled a game (sims2) and have recently decided to reinstall it. Well, now after installing the game, I recieve a strange message when it tries to boot from the CD.
"Failed to find any DirectX 9.0c compatible graphic adapter in this system. Pleas make sure you have a directx 9.0c compatable graphics adapter and have installed the latest drivers provided by the manufacturer. The application will now terminate."

Okay, I figured no big problem, I'd download it and all would be well... BUT when I went to check on my graphics drivers, it says I don't have any. Somehow its gone missing, or maybe I'm just not looking in the right place?? Any how, can anyone give me any advice? Not only finding it, but finding the problem. As I said, I've installed this game before, so I know I have the right stuff to play it. Suggestions?

Thanks in advance,
-Chris

Probably worth re-installing the video card software

Items in blue which are underlined are clickable to give more information about the process

Download and install Everest Home Edition

Run the programme, click + next to computer then summary

Look on the right for display / video adapter

Look at the manufacturer’s site for the suitable drivers for your Operating System

If you are unable to find them, please post the make and model here before you download anything

Please set a system restore point before you install anything

Thanks so much for the prompt response.

Okay, Restore point is set downloaded Everest and found my video adaptor and 3d accelerator VIA/S3 UniChrome. Both are gray, if that means anything.

You want me to look for the new drivers or reinstall them?

Re-install them if you have the software CD

They may have been disrupted when the game was uninstalled
