Can you navigate to that file in your My computer, then right click on it and copy. Put it on your desktop, then right click on it again. go to compress and email. Email it to me at malwareremovalATcomcast.net
(change the AT to @)

If you can't do it, just go ahead an proceed with the rest of the instructions.

Lets get rid of that file:

Delete an Files on Reboot
  • Open HiJackThis
  • Click on the "Config..." button on the bottom right
  • Click on the tab "Misc Tools"
  • Click on "Delete File on Reboot"
  • Navigate to this file - C:/WINDOWS/setupapi.log.0.old
  • Double click on that file.
  • HJT asks you if you want to reboot, now. Click "Yes".
After reboot, go ahead and follow the instructions again for WinPFind3U
Post back with any questions or problems.

Lets start from scratch here and see if we can tackle it that way. The file I got was just a shortcut, wasn't the actual file

go to run, type msconfig, then go to the start up tab. Make sure everything is checked off, then apply.

restart your computer, (which will probally take a bit) then post me a fresh HiJackthis log and we will start tackling this manually.

wow, that is quite the collection my friend, you don;t even know...well you will when your doing the instructions....lol

I put Kazza down for deletion. You can be pretty certain thats where you got the most of this Malware from. I highly Suggest that you follow my directions and remove it with the other crapware!

Also, do you have Norton running on your machine?

before we get going, I need two more things from you.

1) Go to Start->Run and type in services.msc and hit OK. Then look for WinToolsSvc and double click on it. Click on the Stop button and under Startup type, choose Disabled, then apply.

Do the same for this one too:

TBPSSvc

Close that out.

2) Click Start>> Run>> and type in CMD. A dos window will popup. In that dos window type the following command

sc delete WinToolsSvc

then do the same for TBPSSvc

Let me know if you get any errors.

3) Copy everything inside the quote box below (starting with dir) and paste it into notepad. Go up to "File > Save As" and click the drop-down box to change the "Save As Type" to "All Files". Save it as findfile.bat on your Desktop.

dir C:\WINDOWS\System32\r?gedit.exe /a h > files.txt
notepad files.txt

Locate findfile.bat on your Desktop and double-click on it. It will open Notepad with some text in it. Please post the contents of that Notepad here.
