COMPUTER MAKES LOUD HUMMING NOISE

Hello, my computer has just started to make a real loud humming noise coming from the hard drive. Can i fix this myself?? thanks

Is the noise still occuring, or is it always constant?

sorry forgot to say, it comes and goes, about 5-10minute intervals. it just sounds like its loading really hard, but it does it even when im doing nothing....

only thing i can think of it sounds like is simular to a vacuum cleaner, just not as loud...haha

Well, It may be a harddrive failing.

Please backup all your files to a CD or flash drive or what you may have that can store space. You never know when the drive will stop working and you totally lost all your files.

quick question, does all my outlook express address get saved to my email address? or if my computer packs in do i loose all my address'??? ahhh

If you were to lose your email adress book.. I would copy all the email adresses and put them into a Word file and back it up somewhere..
