I have recently put a new duel-layer DVD burner in my computer and now many of the programs won't recognise it's existance ... nero, media player and DVD shrink work fine and it burns fine for both CDs and DVDs but I have some programs that seem to think it doesn't exist like Ulead DVD slideshow and my AR max media creator (Datel program used in conjunction with the Playstation2 ).
I have removed and reinstalled these programs with no luck at all.
I am running out of ideas - anyone can help ?

It has to be a software issue if some burning applications recognise the drive but others don't.

Usually, updating those applications to the latest version does the trick.
