Sometimes, not everytime, when I close IE7 I get a pop up window titled iexplore.exe - application error.

instruction at "0x66869b97" referenced memory at "0x00000014". The memory could not be "read"

Click OK to terminate program

Could anyone explain what this might be. I don't get BSOD. This pop up is in windows classic style, although I am running XP style.

Thanks,
Fanton

Hi there,

Try running a disc defrag, I had this problem once, and after running a defrag it problem disappeared.

Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disc Defragmenter

Hope That Helps

I'll give it a try. I haven't defragged in a while, as I have some large files on the HDD.
