Alright I have two Toshiba notebooks that need some work. The first ones battery is completely dead I have plugged it into outlet and let it try and recharge that and it still wont even turn on. My question is wheres the best place to get a new battery, would I go directly to Toshiba website or can I go to say staples and just bring the notebook and they might have some in stock? I would really appreciate the advice.

The Second Toshiba notebook has cracked screen. I was wondering what I can do to get that fixed. I really have know I idea what to do with that one. Thanks in advance

First off, any toshiba should be able to boot when the AC adapter is plugged in even if the battery is completely dead. i have a Tecra 8000 that won't even boot to the battery( nothing at all there) but boots up when the ac adapter is hooked up. if the laptop does not evn boot with the ac hooked up either the hardware has gone bad, or the internal battery that keeps the BIOS working has gone dead and you have lost the bios. Yes, even laptops have internal batterys just like the desktop computers. Usaully the internal batterys don't go bad. I have a Toshiba Portage 660CDT that sat in a corner in a garage for 3 years before i found it and it still started up when i hooked it up to AC.

Cracked screens are usually not very cheap. I use to buy laptops off Ebay that had problems just to use them for parts. Sometimes the price of a used laptop is less than buying a complete screen from a dealer.
