I came across a Compaq Armada M700 notebook. It's a 500mhz, 320mb ram and 40gb hdd. What I'm trying to upgrade the DVD-Rom drive to at least a combo CD-RW/DVD-Rom drive so its more usable. Here's the link to the laptop's info from the website: http://h18000.www1.h...a/10382_na.HTML

Can anybody help? Point me in the right direction? It has a removeable bay if it helps at all.

Personally, I wouldn't throw a whole munch of money into an old laptop. You might be better off buying an external drive. At least you can use it on any computer.
