Computer Wont Shut Down

Hi I have just reinstalled windows xp pro and installed all the updates and things like that
but now when i click on shutdown.Windows shutsdown and the monitor turns off but the computer is still on :whistling:

why is this happening it didnt happen before i reinstalled windows xp pro. I did a clean install firstly formating my hard drive

Does it shutdown if you remove the USB leads for everything but the keyboard and mouse

The User Profile Hive Cleanup service helps to ensure user sessions are completely terminated when a user logs off. System processes and applications occasionally maintain connections to registry keys in the user profile after a user logs off. In those cases the user session is prevented from completely ending.
